SALIVEZE™ Mouth
Spray
Artificial Saliva solution.
SALIVEZE is an aqueous solution of electrolytes. The solution is clear in appearance and slightly viscous. The electrolytes are present in concentrations similar to those found in human saliva. SALIVEZE has a neutral pH and a mild mint flavour.
Presentation.
SALIVEZE is presented
in a 50ml plastic bottle with a hand operated spray top.
Uses.
SALIVEZE is used to maintain moisture of the mouth and as a replacement
for saliva when salivary flow is reduced. Because of its neutral pH it
can be used in both dentate and non-dentate patients.
It is prescribable for patients suffering from a dry mouth as a result of having or having undergone radiotherapy or sicca syndrome.
Dosage and administration.
SALIVEZE is administered by means of the hand operated spray pump
in the bottle top. It is sprayed into the mouth either by self administration
or by carers.
Each depression of the spray pump in the bottle top dispenses 0.5ml of SALIVEZE solution. Normally one depression is sufficient to moisten the mouth.
Contra-indications,
warnings, etc.
SALIVEZE should not be sprayed near the eyes.
SALIVEZE should not be used in unconscious or sleeping patients.

precautions
It should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C and out of reach
of children

SALIVEZE is supplied in single packs each containing one 50ml bottle.
